A Proposed New Mix Proportioning Method for Fly Ash-Based Geopolymer Concrete

Global warming on planet Earth results from the high emission of greenhouse gases, especially CO2. The Portland cement industry releases amounts CO2 and is responsible for about 5-8% total emissions. Efforts have been made to look alternative cementless binders mitigate impact environment. Geopolymers are one highlighted alternatives can be obtained reaction any aluminosilicate material with an alkaline solution. Aluminosilicate materials found in byproduct such as fly ash. Geopolymer concrete a promising environmentally friendly option. However, previous conventional mix proportioning methods ash-based limited. Most these focused single weight ratio SiO2/Na2O, which was 2. sodium silicate solution produced industrially various concentrations depending SiO2/Na2O. Adding hydroxide increases alkalinity resulting activation liquid. This work proposes new procedure named "Ratio Resulting Sodium Silicate Method Binder." method has successfully verified achieve desired compressive strength 7th 28th days.
